Nov. 1 Holy Day - of obligation?
This Monday, November 1, is the solemnity of All Saints. Usually, this is a holy day of obligation, meaning that Catholics are expected to attend Mass to celebrate this day. However, when November 1, the solemnity of All Saints, falls on a Saturday or on a Monday, the obligation to attend Mass is lifted.
While there is no obligation to attend Mass, we hope you will join us for Mass at St. Matthias Parish at either 7:00 a.m. or 7:00 p.m. Or, if it is more convenient for you, please attend Mass at one of our cluster parishes: St. Gregory the Great Parish at 8:15 a.m., or Our Lady of Lourdes Parish at noon.
Also, please join us for Commemoration of All Souls on Tuesday, November 2, with Mass at 7:00 p.m., followed by a social in Steiger Hall.
